Add text to a line in OmniGraffle

If I have a line or arrow connecting two objects, how do I get a piece of descriptive text attached to that line? If I move the line, the text should follow.

  • @Buscar웃 Nope, I figured there must be a way to attach text as an attribute of the line. Pretty common need in diagrams, to note the logic expressed by the link between objects. And I vaguely recall using this feature in an old version of Omnigraffle.

Hold alt while double-clicking on the line to add a label to it.

If this creates a point to adjust the line from, double click without alt. You can swap alt-double-click creating a point and creating a label from Preferences → Drawing Tools → Line Editing.
