This is a question from a physicist trying to understand space curves.
In 2D, a closed curve equidistant from a point is a circle, and has constant curvature and zero torsion.
What can be said for a closed curve equidistant from a point in 3D, i.e. lying on the surface of a sphere? What are its properties?
