How can I benefit the other side when I want to make a outbound or inbound networking?

I want to make an informational interview and I learned that there are two types of networking: outbound networking and inbound networking. Outbound Networking begins with people you already know and works outward through contacts and referrals. Inbound Networking is reaching directly into a different network to get to a person or organization more quickly.
I know some people inside the organization or field(but may be not doing the work I am interested) and I want to learn something from them, and also I know which person to contact to do inbound networking. But what I lack is that I don't know how to make an exchange. I thought to do networking or be a part of the network I should make sure that the connections would be mutually beneficial .
Last time I just tried to visit the company but I was asked by a person this question: what can you bring to them?
So how can I prepare for an informational interview to learn something about the organization, the type of work or the successful expert?
